Simple Pulled Pork Recipe Slow Cooker



A succulent, juicy pulled pork sandwich is one of the classic comfort food recipes. It’s a favorite of barbeque lovers, and it’s also an easy dish to prepare in your slow cooker. A slow cooker version of this popular dish is the perfect way to enjoy all the flavors of a classic pulled pork sandwich without the hassle of grilling or smoking the meat. With a few simple ingredients and some time, you can whip up an incredibly tasty pulled pork sandwich in no time.

For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of pulled pork, it is a process of shredding cooked pork and then seasoning it with barbeque sauce, spices, and herbs. The shredded pork is then piled onto a bun and served with coleslaw, pickles, and other condiments. It's a classic American dish that is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters.

Making pulled pork in a slow cooker is actually quite easy. All you need to do is combine a few simple ingredients and let the slow cooker do the work for you. This recipe calls for pork shoulder, a cut of meat that is both flavorful and affordable. It’s then seasoned with garlic powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder before being cooked low and slow in a combination of beer and chicken broth. When the pork is cooked, it’s shredded with two forks and simmered in a sweet and tangy barbeque sauce. Top it off with a few slices of red onion and dill pickles, and you have a mouth-watering pulled pork sandwich that will have everyone asking for seconds!

Now, let’s get started. Begin by heating a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add two cloves of chopped garlic and a teaspoon of chili powder. Cook for about one minute, stirring often. Then add the pork shoulder and brown it on each side for about three minutes. Once the pork is nicely browned, transfer it to the slow cooker.

To the slow cooker, add a cup of chicken broth, a can of beer, an additional teaspoon of chili powder, a teaspoon of smoked paprika, and a tablespoon of your favorite barbeque sauce. Stir to combine and then cover the slow cooker. Cook the pork on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is easily shredded with a fork.

Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Place the shredded pork back into the slow cooker and stir in an additional cup of barbeque sauce. Simmer the pork for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve the pulled pork on buns and top it with a few slices of red onion and dill pickles. Enjoy!
